Okay, with the subject of this entry I was trying to make it sound like Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, but it didn't work as well as I'd planned.
I realize that I haven't said much about my life in the dorms--so, that's what I'm going to do now. Okay. I've got five suitmates, three of which share a room with me. At first, I thought it was going to be super awkward because they had been there for almost a week before I got there. I thought they would already have that initial roommate bond, and it would be hard for me to break to get in it. Well, it wasn't that hard. I still kind of feel left out because they went out and met people that week before I got there, so I'm always trying to "catch up." I still sort of feel like an outsider, but that may just be my chronic paranoia. I hope so anyway.
I have no personality. I don't know where it went. I act like a fucking deaf mute when I get around people. Okay, so it's not really that bad, but I lost the somewhat extrovert that I spent my whole high school life trying to build. I swear to God that it was there, but I have retorted back to my SAD introverted ways. Why? Why? I was totally bragging to Sara about how I have no problem making friends, but now I have to stick my foot in my mouth. Where is that girl with the quirky sense of humor and random statements?
Back to my roommates. They are (in alphabetical order by first name) Brittney, Jocelyn, Joyce, Mary(she might go by Mary Kate, but it's too late now for me to ask), and Portia. Portia and Jocelyn share a room and Joyce, MK, Brittney, and I share the other room. All of them are really sweet. I don't really know Portia that well, but we've always been super polite to each other. Jocelyn is a wannabe theatre major like me, and even though she's hispanic we have a lot of background in common. Brittney is a really cool girl from California. MK is from Hot-lanta. We have a lot in common--especially when it comes to celebrity obsessions--her dad had his picture taken with MATT DAMON!!! AHHH!!! Joyce is from Connecticut. She's got a great sense of humor. I envy her because of that. She is soooo funny. I get a feeling that she doesn't like me, though. I mean, she doesn't omit an aire of hatred or say anything hateful, but I just sort of feel it.
Okay, so, jump to last night/this morning. It's 2:00 AM and I decide to give up on my homework that I put off doing. Joyce and MK are procastinating doing their homework, so they are playing on their laptops.
"I'm hungry," Joyce says. MK concurs and they decide what they want to get delivered. (It's New York, you CAN get things delivered at 2AM.) Anyway, after about 30 minutes of deciding what to get. They call PK's and they, however, aren't delivering. So Joyce and MK come back in the room.
"We're going to Yaffa's!"
"Fuck school!"
So we decide to dress in our most ridiculous outfits and ride the subway to the Village. We do. AHHH!! I'm running out of time (I've got to go to class, so I'm going to have to warp speed this story.) Okay, we go to Yaffa's, eat, and come back. I go to sleep around 6, and I go to my 8:30 NYC in Lit. class and my 10 French class. Now I'm here on the computer. Ahhh! Class time!
